Overview
Dizziness can show up in many ways. You may have vertigo, which makes it seem like you’re moving when you’re not. Or you may feel lightheaded, have hearing loss or stagger when you walk. These and other signs of dizziness can make you lose your balance and fall.
While medications are the most common culprit, other things can throw your vestibular system off course, too. Some of these require prompt medical care. Cleveland Clinic’s vestibular and balance experts have the treatment you need.
Expert Care for Vestibular and Balance Conditions
When your dizziness becomes unmanageable — or you have signs of a more serious medical condition, Cleveland Clinic’s vestibular disorders team is ready to diagnose it.
We can schedule a series of same-day appointments at our Main Campus. Or you can see one of our vestibular, neurotology or head and neck experts at a location close to you. Our team uses the latest technology to test everything possibly related to your dizziness.
Our team
Our vestibular disorders team is made up of healthcare providers experienced in treating all types of vestibular disorders. This includes head and neck experts (otolaryngologists), audiologists and physical therapists. All are trained in vestibular and balance therapy techniques.
This team works closely with providers from other specialties to uncover what’s causing your dizziness and related symptoms. If you need a rapid consultation with another provider, we’ll help you schedule it.

Preparing for Your Evaluation
Once you schedule an appointment with our team, you’ll want to remember to do a few things. If this is your first appointment with a Cleveland Clinic provider, please bring:
- Medical records from visits with another healthcare provider
- A list of medications you take
- Earlier test results and images from scans
If you already see other Cleveland Clinic providers, this information is already available in your MyChart.
On your appointment day, you’ll want to wear comfortable clothing as you may need to recline and move side to side during the evaluation. Your tests may include:
We may also order blood tests to check how well your thyroid and immune system work.

Dizzy clinic
Our team will schedule back-to-back, same-day appointments at our Main Campus. You’ll see all the providers and have all the tests you need, including:
