Program Director Welcome
Thank you for taking the time to learn about the Cleveland Clinic Internal Medicine Residency Program.
At Cleveland Clinic, we take great pride in fostering a positive learning environment, that is defined by professionalism, high standards, and commitment to shaping the next generation of leaders in medicine. Our program offers the unique opportunity to learn from world-renowned educators and researchers across every subspecialty.
Our innovative 4-plus-1 curricular structure provides an engaging and dynamic educational experience, appropriately balancing residents autonomy with mentors’ support. From day one, we encourage our residents to shape their own unique career trajectories. Within our comprehensive curriculum, we offer multiple training pathways, including the Clinical Educator Track, and the Veteran Affairs Track, both distinct in the National Residency Match Program. After completing the PGY1 year, residents can choose to participate in the Clinical Scholars Program, Hospital Medicine track, or Primary Care track.
With faculty deeply invested in resident success, we offer personalized guidance to help each resident excel. We are dedicated to creating an environment where everyone feels supported, valued, and empowered to reach their full potential. The culture at Cleveland Clinic ensures that you will thrive both professionally and personally.
I look forward to welcoming you to our program and supporting you on this exciting and rewarding career journey.

Sub-Specialty Education Coordinators (SECs)
The Subspecialty Education Coordinators (SECs) play a vital role in the Internal Medicine Residency Program. They partner closely with the IMRP Leadership Team and contribute to the high quality education and experience of our residents.
The SECs assist in residency subspecialty curriculum and clinical rotation design. They are excellent teachers, and provide feedback to the residents regarding their performance. They also work to continually improve their rotations by regularly reviewing and incorporating resident feedback.
