The radiation therapist is an integral part of the cancer treatment team. The therapist positions the patient, delivers the radiation treatment and records the prescribed course of radiation, while applying radiation protection principles. Radiation therapists must be compassionate individuals with good communication skills in order to meet the needs of oncology patients.
Cleveland Clinic Radiation Oncology Department has recently established an affiliation with the Radiation Therapy Program at Kent State University (KSU), Salem Campus. KSU offers a Bachelor of Radiologic Science Degree in Radiation Therapy. See the KSU website at www.salem.kent.edu or contact the program director at 330.337.4133 for more information.
Please note that an observation or shadowing period is required prior to March 1 and the deadline for application is April 1.
