Biography

Patrick Lavoie is a Physiotherapist at Cleveland Clinic Canada. Mr. Lavoie is experienced in a wide range of clinical areas including musculoskeletal, neurological, and pediatric rehabilitation. He is dedicated to developing comprehensive treatment plans for sports injuries and post-surgical rehabilitation as well as chronic conditions such as osteoarthritis. 

In his 18-years as a professional dancer with the National Ballet, Mr. Lavoie experienced numerous injuries, which introduced him to the world of sports rehabilitation. He decided to channel his passion for the field into a career and obtained his Master of Science in Physiotherapy from McMaster University. During this time, he focused his thesis on exploring the contribution of central sensitization mechanisms on pain and function in knee osteoarthritis. Additionally, he completed the Advanced Musculoskeletal Orthopedic Elective at McMaster as well as certifications in the Darby Training System and Thai Massage. 

In his practice, Mr. Lavoie employs manual techniques, exercise prescription and clinical education to manage multiple musculoskeletal conditions. Previously, he was a member of the National Ballet of Canada’s Health and Wellness Team, where he led the dancer dynamic strengthening program centered on injury prevention.

When he’s not treating patients, Mr. Lavoie enjoys spending time with his family, cycling, skiing and canoeing.
