Biographical Sketch

Timothy Gilligan, MD, is a Medical Oncologist at Cleveland Clinic's main campus in Cleveland, Ohio. He is board-certified in medical oncology and internal medicine and specializes in cancers of the testicles, bladder, prostate and kidneys as well as in problems related to cancer survivorship.

Dr. Gilligan directs the Late Effects Clinic, which addresses the needs of cancer survivors. He also serves as Program Director of the Cleveland Clinic's Hematology-Oncology Fellowship and is a member of the Cleveland Clinic's Ethics Committee and Graduate Medical Education Committee.

Dr. Gilligan has published over half a dozen original scientific articles in peer-reviewed journals, has written dozens of review articles and book chapters and has given dozens of lectures on genitourinary cancers and biomedical ethics.  He currently writes and edits treatment guidelines and cancer-information summaries for the National Cancer Institute, the American Society of Clinical Oncology and UpToDate.
