Overview of the PM&R Team
Every day, the over 150 employees of PM&R have the privilege of providing specialized rehabilitation services to patients with diverse social, cultural and medical backgrounds. Patients’ medical problems may be common, or rare. For some, the people in this Department guide their recuperation from temporary restrictions caused by surgery, pain, illness or injury. Other patients face problems that are more serious, permanent or disabling. Often, patients’ medical problems make them and their families frustrated, fearful, and discouraged.
Every member of our team recognizes the impact that a smile, a kind word, and a caring attitude can have on recovery. We benefit from working alongside medical and surgical specialists who have built the Cleveland Clinic into one of the nation’s premier hospitals. We are continuously challenged to match the medical innovation we see with new rehabilitation strategies.
If you read our clinical studies, you will see how our rehabilitation researchers contribute to this environment of discovery. It is marvelous to witness how this exciting atmosphere influences the morale, enthusiasm and expertise of our clinical team members.
