Our team of skilled radiologists is highly trained in the newest technology, so our patients benefit from the most up-to-date techniques and treatments.
Our Women’s Breast Imaging Center uses digital mammography that uses 40 percent less radiation than regular film mammography and takes less procedure time. We specialize in advanced and innovative diagnostic and treatment techniques in MRI, CT, mammography, ultrasound, nuclear medicine, interventional radiology and general radiology.
Our team approach with other specialty departments helps our patients achieve the best diagnosis, treatments and outcomes possible.

The Women’s Imaging Center, a part of the Division of Radiology at Cleveland Clinic Florida, provides advanced imaging and diagnostic techniques for a wide variety of women’s issues.
The Women’s Imaging Center has been designated a Breast Imaging Center of Excellence by the American College of Radiology (ACR) for demonstrating excellence in the following services: Digital mammography. Digital mammography includes streotastic breast biopsies, breast and pelvic ultrasound, and bone density. The Women’s imaging Center is a leader in stereotactic breast biopsy, which is a safe and minimally invasive form of breast biopsy. It is used to obtain tiny samples from an abnormal breast mass for examination by a pathologist.
The Women’s Imaging Center provides:
Digital mammography* (diagnostic and screening) with Computer Aided Detection (CAD)
- Stereotactic breast biopsies
- Breast ultrasound
- Pelvic ultrasound
- Bone density
Benefits of Digital Mammography
- 40% less radiation dose over film mammography
- Less procedure time
- Ability to manipulate images
- Efficient future access to prior mammograms
Interventional
- Treatment and diagnosis of vascular disease
- Image guided percutaneous biopsies
- Central venous catheter placement
- Uterine fibroid embolization
- Image guided urinary and biliary procedures
- Percutaneous radiofrequency ablation of tumors
- Carotid artery stenting
CT
- Cardiac CTA - Ability to evaluate for coronary artery diseases
- CT Virtual Colonoscopy - Alternative to conventional colonoscopy
- CT Urograms - Specialized exam for kidneys, ureters, and bladder
- CT Biopsies and Drainages
- 64-slice scanner
- All routine and specialty scans
Cleveland Clinic’s MRI Department consists of two 1.5 Tesla magnets and an additional 1.5 open bore magnet in a newly designed outpatient setting.
MRI Department
- Breast MRI
- Breast biopsies
- Endorectal Coil MRI (colon, prostate & uterus)
- Cardiac MRI
- Otis Med Protocol (knee replacement)
- All MRA/MRV exams
- All routine exams as well as specialty exams
The MRI open bore system has unique and significant clinical and operational advantages, including:
- Elimination of outpatient IV sedation
- Reduction in patient rejections due to claustrophobia
- Improvement in patient positioning and comfort, particularly in obese patients.(Table limit: 625 lbs.)
- Ability to perform decubitus positioning
