General & Vascular Surgery

Cleveland Clinic Florida’s Department of Vascular Surgery specializes in the diagnosis and management of carotid artery disease, aortic aneurysms, and poor circulation to the legs and the abdominal organs.

Cleveland Clinic Florida’s Department of Vascular Surgery performs more than 400 procedures annually for patients with a broad spectrum of vascular diseases. Our experts are national leaders in treating aneurismal disease of the thoracic and abdominal aorta, occlusive disease in the cerebrovascular circulation via both open and endovascular methods and minimally invasive treatments for venous disease. We also provide our patients dialysis access.

Acting in close cooperation with the Department of Vascular Medicine cardiologists and radiologists, the Department of Vascular Surgery provides comprehensive services for all types of peripheral vascular disorders, including the new technology of catheter-based intervention as well as traditional surgical treatment for aneurysms and obstructive arterial disease. Due to our extensive experience in endovascular repair of abdominal aortic aneurysms, we are able to treat approximately 60 percent of aneurysms through endovascular repair.

Nearly one-third of our services are currently performed to treat those with atherosclerosis, we also provide a significant number of patients with care for aneurysms of the abdominal and thoracic aortas, and in increasing numbers, for those with venous disease. We specialize in minimally invasive endovenous ablation to treat the varicose saphenous vein. Additionally, our staff is highly skilled in microphlebectomy and TIPPs (transilluminated powered phlebectomy) for the removal of the secondary veins, providing patients with pain relief as well as an excellent cosmetic result. To fully complement our services, we provide dialysis for individuals with end-stage renal disease, and many of our patients are also treated for cerebrovascular disease to reduce the risk of stroke.
