Our specialty services include:
Diabetes Management
Our Certified Diabetic Educators (CDE) specialize in the management of patients with Diabetes and complications of Diabetes. All CDEs are registered nurses who are trained and certified by the Diabetes Education Board.
- Services provided for Diabetes Management:
- Manage new insulin dependent patients
- Consult on patient’s with Type 1 and Type 2 Diabetes
- Manage gestational diabetes patients
- Work with family members to understand diet and restrictions
- Order all necessary supplies
- Work hand-in-hand with registered dietitians
Infusion Therapy
Certified Infusion Therapy Nurses (CRNI) specialize in the management of patients with infusion therapy, including TPN, Antibiotics and Pain Management. All CRNIs are certified by the Infusion Nurses Society.
- Services provided for Infusion Therapy:
- Educate patients and families on home infusion process
- Assist in obtaining necessary supplies
- Administer high tech infusions
Wound Care
A Certified Wound, Ostomy and Continence Nurse (WOCN) specializes in the post-op management for complex surgical procedures dealing with wounds, gastrointestinal and genitourinary procedures. All WOCNs are specially trained at the Cleveland Clinic R.B. Turnbull, Jr., M.D. School of WOC Nursing.
- Services provided for Wound Care:
- Consult on all wound cases
- Recommend to physician and/or hospitals what will work best for a given patient
- Manage all complex wound cases
- Ostomy services provided:
- Manage all new ostomy patients
- Order all necessary supplies
- Arrange consultations for product samplings
- Continence services provided:
- Manage patients with Foley catheter issues
- Manage patients with skin integrity problems
