Biography
Jennifer Wowk is a Registered Social Worker and Psychotherapist and member of the Executive Health team at Cleveland Clinic Canada.
Ms. Wowk has experience in a wide variety of clinical areas, including crisis intervention, child and family mental health, borderline personality disorder, and parenting. She specializes in Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) and Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) with a strong interest in Narrative Therapy and Mindfulness.
Ms. Wowk earned a Master of Social Work from Wilfrid Laurier University after obtaining an Honours Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance from York University. Passionate about continuing education, Ms. Wowk will soon be completing her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology at York University and has completed an extensive list of additional training including certification in CBT and multiple in-depth DBT training courses for individuals, couples and families.
With experience as a crisis intervention worker, discharge planner and clinical social worker in one of Ontario's busiest community hospitals, and as a clinician in a seminal DBT clinic in Toronto, Ms. Wowk provides a thorough and focused assessment that prioritizes patient needs, safety, and offers accessible resources. Jennifer also draws on her artistic background to enhance the well-being of her patients.
When she's not seeing patients, Ms. Wowk enjoys dance class, trying new restaurants, playing the drums and spending time with friends and family.
