The Rose Ella Burkhardt Brain Tumor and Neuro-Oncology Center (BBTC) of the Neurological Institute is one of the largest and most comprehensive programs in the country and is dedicated to providing exceptional patient care including surgery, radiation, chemotherapy, and clinical research trials for brain tumor patients. Patient care is provided by a multidisciplinary team consisting of neurosurgeons, radiation oncologists, neuro-oncologists, medical oncologists, psychiatrists, and neuropsychologists, along with nurses, physician assistants, case managers, and social workers who all specialize in treating patients with brain tumors. The BBTC is dedicated to bringing patients novel treatment options emerging from the institute’s extensive basic and translational research programs. The primary mission is to offer excellent care through surgical intervention, as well as conducting clinical research to enhance patient outcomes.

In 2022, gliomas were the most common primary brain tumor seen in The Rose Ella Burkhardt Brain Tumor and Neuro-Oncology Center. Metastases were the most common tumor seen in the center.

Brain Biopsy: Survival

2018 – 2022

The 30- and 180-day survival rates for brain biopsies were 100% and 100%, respectively, for 2022.
