Speaking of Women's Health 2011

Speaking of Women’s Health draws over 1,000 women for spectacular, entertaining, health and wellness conference

Cleveland Clinic’s Center for Specialized Women’s Health hosted the diamond anniversary “Speaking of Women’s Health” conference on Saturday, Sept. 17th at the InterContinental Hotel.

This year women gained the tools to live a healthy lifestyle, spoke with Cleveland Clinic experts, learned about their health status with health screenings, and attended educational breakout sessions on topics including nutrition, menopause, heart health, skin care and much more! In fact, more than 300 women underwent healthy heart screenings, 200+ completed bone density screenings, another 200 had skin cancer checks and 100 ladies had personal bra fittings…just to name a few. Janice Murphy, RN, President of Fairview Hospital, brought the women to tears with laughter as the afternoon keynote speaker.

And finally, in celebration of the 10th anniversary of Speaking of Women’s Health in Cleveland, 10 honorees were inducted into the Speaking of Women’s Health Honoree Hall of Fame at a ceremony held on September 15, 2011 at the Foundation House. Cleveland Clinic’s Center for Specialized Women’s Health has honored several local individuals who have made a difference in the lives of women in our community either through their profession or volunteer service. The names of the inductees are inscribed on a sculpture that hangs in the Cleveland Clinic’s Center for Specialized Women’s Health.
