Dr Shapiro was very good in asking what was my understanding of my cancer and in verifying I was correct. He was open to all questions on treatment options for this stage of my illness and gave clear answers. Dr Shapiro had done his homework before he saw me; he was knowledgeable about test results & treatment plan from another hospital. Great communication skills, patient, straightforward, and thorough. Thank you. I want to also give credit to the Physician Assistant & her trainee who talked with us prior to Dr Shapiro coming Into the room. Great communication to again see what our knowledge was of my cancer. Her empathy was evident when she looked at me and with friendly eyes said, "you've been through a lot." Once Dr Shapiro came in, she sat toward the back but was an appropriate advocate to help clarify a few points we wanted to make. Not sure where she was hired from (said she recently started in the position) but she was very good & my wife & I were glad she was there.

Dr Shapiro, his physician assistant, and the assistant who checked us into the exam room all worked seamlessly together as a team and showed the utmost respect to me & my wife. They focused on me as a whole person, not just a cancer patient.

We waited 45 minutes in room for doctor. No new information given. Pathology was not finished and so no plan was made. Had to reschedule another appointment for the end of the following week. Next appointment will be in person instead of allowing telehealth visit. We travel 1.75 hours each way

Felt very confident with Dr. Shapiro. Took all the time I needed in expaining things and answering my question. Got fast results from him in setting me up for a biopsy. Everyone was great. Am waiting to hear from Dr. Shapiro after the biopsy is done for results. I feel much better about having the biopsy done than I did previously before I came to Cleveland Clinic. Thank you to everyone who has worked with me in getting it all set up.
