Biographical Sketch

Burak Sade, MD, was born in Ankara, Turkey. He has been a clinical associate in the Brain Tumor and Neuro-oncology Center and the Department of Neurosurgery of the Neurological Institute since 2007. His clinical interests include brain tumors, meningiomas and skull base tumors in particular, surgical treatment of other skull base pathologies, and Chiari malformation.

Dr. Sade is the recipient of the 2006 Integra Foundation Award and the 2007 Synthes Skull Base Award from the American Association of Neurological Surgeons / Congress of Neurological Surgeons Joint Section on Tumors in recognition of his research on benign tumors of the nervous system, and on skull base surgery, respectively. He is also the co-author of the study, which received the 2008 Integra Foundation Award (Award recipient: Joung H. Lee, MD). In 2006, Dr. Sade received the ?Do?ent? title (An academic title equivalent of Associate Professor) bestowed by the Higher Education Council of Turkey (highest academic body in Turkey) as an acknowledgement of his academic achievements in the field of Neurosurgery. He was also selected for the Global Directory of Who?s Who, a registry of outstanding professionals in their respective fields.

To date, Dr. Sade has authored more than 100 peer-reviewed journal manuscripts, book chapters, and abstracts on various neurosurgical topics, particularly on meningiomas, and other skull base tumors.
