Biographical Sketch
Sucheta Kulkarni, PhD, is a Project Staff in the Department of Clinical Pathology at the Cleveland Clinic Main Campus. Dr. Kulkarni came to Cleveland Clinic in 1992 as a fellow in the Department of Experimental Therapeutics. She subsequently did fellowships in the Departments of Cancer Biology and Molecular Cardiology before joining the Department of Clinical Pathology in 2005.
Dr. Kulkarni obtained her degree as a Bachelor of Science, A master of Science and a Master of Philosophy from the University of Poona in India. She subsequently earned the Doctorate degree in Life Sciences from the University of Bombay in India. Sh was a member of the faculty in the Department of Life Sciences at Sophia College, Mumbai, India before coming to Cleveland Clinic.
In 1997, Dr. Kulkarni was the First Runner-up for the Dr. F. Merlin Bumpus Junior Investigator Award, recognizing excellence in research by graduate students and postdoctoral fellows at the Cleveland Clinic. Her work was recognized and published in several articles in peer-reviewed journals. Some areas of her interests are Rho GTPases, cysteine protease calpain, cytoskeletal proteins, protein phosphatase, adhesion receptors and growth factor receptors.
