Biographical Sketch

Daniel Geisler, MD, FACS, FASCRS, is Associate Staff in the Department of Colorectal Surgery,
specializing in minimally invasive surgery (laparoscopy and transanal endoscopic microsurgery) for disorders of the colon and rectum, with emphasis on sphincter-preservation surgery.

Innovations & Patents

First single-port colectomy performed in the United States. This was done in conjunction with Dr. Feza Remzi and Dr. Jihad Kaouk and allowed a major abdominal operation (bowel resection) to be performed through a single, small incision (3.5 cm).
