Biographical Sketch

Elaine Dannefer, PhD, is Director, Medical Education Research and Assessment, at the Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine of Case Western Reserve University. She joined Cleveland Clinic in 2003, after having served for five years as associate dean for Curricular Affairs, University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry, Rochester, N.Y.

 

Dr. Dannefer graduated with a master’s degree in social work from Indiana University, Indianapolis and a doctorate degree in sociology from the University of Rochester, Rochester.

 

She is president-elect of the Society for Directors of Research in Medical Education and is an external reviewer for the Stemmler Medical Research Education Fund (National Board of Medical Examiners) and Teaching and Learning in Medicine Journal. Dr. Dannefer is on several committees at Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine of Case Western Reserve University, including the Clinical Assessment Committee.
