Biographical Sketch
David S. Barnes, MD, is Administrative Vice Chairman in the Department of Gastroenterology and Hepatology, Cleveland Clinic, and a Hepatologist caring for patients with liver disease. His clinical practice also encompasses the medical management of patients before and after liver transplantation. He also performs liver biopsies, paracenteses and diagnostic and therapeutic upper endoscopy and colonoscopy.
Dr. Barnes is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in internal medicine, gastroenterology and transplant hepatology.
His research interests include immunosuppression after liver transplant and the treatment of recurrent hepatitis C after liver transplant.
