Biographical Sketch
Franklin Michota, Jr., MD, is Director of Academic Affairs in the Department of Hospital Medicine, and his career is focused on medical education. He works with the NBME to develop test material for state licensure. He was a Charter Member of the SHM and has served on both the national Education and Research Committees. He was instrumental in helping develop the Hospitalist Core-Competencies position paper. He has directed and co-directed multiple symposia and continuing medical education (CME) courses, including the annual Cleveland Clinic Intensive Review of Internal Medicine and Perioperative Summit.
Dr. Michota is a former Associate Program Director of Internal Medicine as well as Director of the Cleveland Clinic Hospital Medicine Fellowship Program.
Dr. Michota has authored or co-authored over 30 articles and book chapters, and has given over 300 CME presentations across the United States, on the topics of DVT/PE, CHF, laboratory testing, preoperative evaluation and perioperative care.
