Adam W. Grasso, MD, PhD, is a staff cardiologist in the Section of Clinical Cardiology, the Robert and Suzanne Tomsich Department of Cardiovascular Medicine, at the Sydell and Arnold Miller Family Heart & Vascular Institute. He has served as the Director of the Cardiology Consult Service since 2007. He began his appointment as a Fellow in the Department of Cardiovascular Medicine in 2004. Prior to this, he completed both his internship and residency in internal medicine at the University of Washington School of Medicine, in Seattle. Additionally, Dr. Grasso earned a PhD in 1999 from the Department of Molecular Biology and Microbiology at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine, in Cleveland, Ohio. His specialty interests include cardiac consultation, clinical research in cardiology, atherosclerosis, lipid-lowering therapy, invasive cardiology, microvascular angina, chest pain with normal coronary arteries, pre-operative cardiac risk evaluation, and pre-liver transplant cardiac evaluation.
He is currently board-certified in internal medicine and cardiovascular medicine.
Dr. Grasso is a graduate of the Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Pennsylvania, in Philadelphia, majoring in chemistry and graduating Cum Laude.
Dr. Grasso was elected a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology in 2010. He was named the Fredric J. Pashkow Stress Lab Fellow of the Year in the Department of Cardiovascular Medicine at Cleveland Clinic in 2005. He received the Outstanding Resident Award from the American Federation for Medical Research-Western Section in 2003, and an American Institute of Chemists Award in 1992.
His research has been published in numerous peer-reviewed medical journals and he has also contributed chapters to medical textbooks. In what time remains, he enjoys his young family, including a twelve year-old son and an eight year-old daughter.

Clinic's procedures. The Cleveland Clinic publicly discloses payments to its physicians and scientists for speaking and consulting of $5,000 or more per year, and any equity, royalties, and fiduciary relationships in companies with which they collaborate. The Cleveland Clinic requires its doctors to approve the public disclosures of their scientific collaborations with industry. As of 8/31/2014 the review process regarding Dr. Grasso's disclosure had not been completed.
