Dr. Patel began his career at the Weston campus in 2007 after completing the James A. Dickson Fellowship in Adult Reconstruction at the Cleveland Clinic. His specialty interests include minimally invasive primary hip and knee replacements and complex revision surgery for the treatment of failed total joints. In his tenure at the Cleveland Clinic, Dr. Patel has developed one of the most respected and productive adult joint replacement centers in Florida. He was recently awarded the Healthnetwork Foundation’s Service Excellence Award and served as the Chair for the Arthritis Foundation’s Broward County Arthritis Walk.
Additionally, Dr. Patel is actively involved in the training of tomorrow’s physicians and researchers. He is the Director of the Adult Joint Reconstruction Fellowship at Cleveland Clinic Florida and has a joint appointment as Affiliate Assistant Professor of Clinical Biomedical Science at the Charles E. Schmidt College of Medicine at Florida Atlantic University. He co-developed the orthopaedic clinical research program at Cleveland Clinic Florida, which now actively trains multiple research fellows each year and has investigated a range of topics, including biomechanics, surgical approach, and blood management. These endeavors have led to numerous publications and presentations at the regional, national, and international level.
Dr. Patel earned his medical degree with honors from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in 2001. He completed his general surgery internship and orthopaedic surgery residency training at the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Hospital in 2006 before heading to Cleveland to complete his fellowship training. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS) and the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons (AAHKS).

My TKR from 2018 is perfect, and I see that Dr. Patel has since made his practice more thorough and efficient. Some knee surgeons think that no robot could be as good as they are, but Dr Patel uses the Mako robot to support his skills as a surgeon and thereby give the patient a better chance for an excellent outcome.

Pedro Acosta, was the physicians assistant who helped me.I am repeating hear that he was part of my surgery team eight years ago. He ascertain that it would help me too. I have Cortizone injections to both of my hips because I am in severe pain, have numbness, and difficulty walking.The injections have helped tremendously. I'm grateful to him for that.

I had Dr. Patel replace my left knee seven years ago. And was very pleased, that's why I went back to him for my hip replacement. I was under time restraints, and Dr. Patel and his PA Peter arranged for my hip replacement within two weeks. I am very pleased with Dr. Patel and his team, and Weston hospital.
