Biographical Sketch

Douglas Mayers, MD, PhD, is Director of the Ambulatory Surgery Center for the Cleveland Clinic Beachwood. He is also a Staff Member in the Department of Regional Practice Anesthesiology and Clinical Associate Professor of Anesthesiology for the Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine. His specialty interests include anesthesia for ambulatory surgery, pediatric anesthesia, and anesthesia for trauma surgery.

Dr. Mayers earned his medical degree from Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, Mo. He completed an internship and residency in the Department of Anesthesiology at University Hospitals of Cleveland in Cleveland, Oh. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Anesthesiology and an American College of Anesthesiologists Fellow.

He has published and presented on topics such as organ transplants, anesthesiology in sinus surgery, and acute trauma anesthesiology.

He is a member of a number of professional and medical organizations, such as the American Society of Anesthesiologists, the Ohio Society of Anesthesiologists, the Society of Cardiovascular Anesthesiologists and the Society of Pediatric Anesthesiologists, among others.
