Biographical Sketch
Teresa E. Dews, MD, is a graduate of the University of Toledo and of the Case Western Reserve University, School of Medicine in Cleveland, Ohio. Dr. Dews performed her residency in anesthesiology at the Cleveland Clinic. Also at Cleveland Clinic, she completed a fellowship in Pain Management.
Currently, she is a Vice Chair of the Department of Pain Management and the medical director of the Pain Management Clinic at Hillcrest Hospital in Mayfield Heights, Ohio. Prior to this position she served as the Director of the Cleveland Clinic Outpatient Pain Management Center Operations and the Quality Review Officer for the Cleveland Clinic Department of Pain Management in the Anesthesiology Institute. Additionally, Dr. Dews is involved in medical student and physician education and is a Clinical Associate Professor of Anesthesiology in the Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine of Case Westewrn Reserve University.
Published in several scientific journals, she has written on many topics including medication management for chronic pain. Dr. Dews is currently working on treatment outcomes in outpatient pain management.
Dr. Dews has been recognized as one of Northern Ohio Live's "Top Doctors", selected as a member of Kaleidoscope magazine's "Forty Club" and inducted into Cleveland Heights High School's Alumni Hall of Fame.
Active in many professional organizations, Dr. Dews in a member of: American Pain Society, American Society of Anesthesiologists, American Society of Interventional Pain Physicians, American Society of Regional Anesthesia, International Spine Injection Society, National Association of Medical Minority Educators, National Medical Association, North American Spine Society and the Ohio Society of Anesthesiologists.
