Christina M. Henrich MSN, RN, ACNS-BC, is a board-certified adult clinical nurse specialist in medical-surgical neurology at Cleveland Clinic main campus. She brings more than a decade of nursing experience to her role and has spent most of her career within the specialty of medical-surgical nursing. Her vast clinical experience encompasses general, orthopedic and bariatric surgical procedures. In her current role, she provides oversight and guidance for a 50-bed nursing unit, which sees a variety of patients, including those suffering from stroke, multiple sclerosis, brain tumors, seizures, Parkinson’s and Huntington’s diseases, and more.
Prior to joining Cleveland Clinic in 2012, Henrich was a staff nurse at both Akron General Hospital in Akron, Ohio, and Parma Community General Hospital in Parma, Ohio. Within the Cleveland Clinic health system, she is a member of the nursing education simulation advisory board, a nursing staff mentor for the geriatric resource nurse program and a facilitator for the cancer etiquette program within Cleveland Clinic’s Taussig Cancer Institute. Additionally, she holds industry association memberships with the National Association of Clinical Nurse Specialists and American Association of Neuroscience Nurses.

Throughout her career, Henrich has presented and spoken in a variety of settings such as Cleveland Clinic main campus’ oncology nursing grand rounds, the organization’s Neurological Institute staff meetings, new hire presentations and more. She is experienced in developing and presenting educational materials for large and small groups in a classroom or an in-service setting. Additionally, in an effort to continue her personal professional development, while also continuously sharing new knowledge with her colleagues, Henrich attends several workshops, seminars and educational offerings each year. She also serves as co-chair for the neurology unit’s shared governance council.
Henrich’s clinical expertise lies within the areas of medical-surgical nursing, specifically medical-surgical neurology.
As a certified adult clinical nurse specialist, Henrich has educated her neurology colleagues on subject areas that include central line removal and neurology case studies. Additionally, she has worked to educate and mentor newly hired nurses on topics such as hospital quality and stress in the new graduate nurse.
Research, Publications & Presentations
Henrich has presented on a number of topics throughout her career – from neurological patient population case studies to neurological issues in oncology, cancer etiquette, central line removal and more. In 2013, she contributed to the creation of a poster on the topic of communicating care (courtesy, awareness, respect and empathy), which was presented at Cleveland Clinic’s popular Empathy and Innovation Summit.
