Sports Health Pupil Activity Validation (PAV) Coaches' Clinics
Cleveland Clinic Sports Health is hosting Pupil Activity Validation courses for coaches of youth programs at the elementary, middle and high school level and recreation leagues. Parent coaches are not required to have Pupil Activity Validation, but encouraged to attend.
Cleveland Clinic Sports Health is an approved provider of the Ohio Department of Education Pupil Activity Programs. These clinics fulfill the Ohio Department of Education (ODE) and Ohio High School Athletic Association requirements for Pupil Activity Validation.

This uniquely designed course will offer the attendee guidelines in making return to play decisions and managing various acute athletic injuries as a health care provider on the athletic sideline.
- Manage game day decision making on diagnosis and return to play
- Improve athletic training room decision making regarding treatment and anticipated return to play
- Increase awareness of medical and orthopaedic diagnoses that preclude return to play
- Gain knowledge in a focused physical exam for the upper extremity and lower extremity to diagnosis injuries
- Increase skills in managing the “downed athlete” including spine boarding
- Recognize and assess common medical emergencies
