Musculoskeletal Imaging

The Musculoskeletal Imaging Fellowship at Cleveland Clinic consists of the following:

  • Up to 1 month exposure to Neuro MR related to the spine.
  • The fellow rotates in the normal work schedule which includes reading plain films (rheumatology films, orthopaedic films), MR, CT, performing ultrasounds, arthrograms, bone biopsies, specialized procedures and therapeutic joint injections; and attending conferences. Evaluation of bone mineral density will also be provided.
  • Our section reads or performs over 170,000 procedures per year. The Imaging Institute archives 2.0 million exams or procedures per year.
  • Fellowship is one year in length beginning July 1st of that year and ending June 30th of the following year.
  • There are 32 residents in the Radiology program.

The fellow receives the following benefits:

  • 1 academic day per week
  • 1 week meeting time ($1200 allotment)
  • 3 weeks vacation
  • Medical Insurance
  • Malpractice insurance
  • Salary conducive to graduate level

The fellow is expected to:

  • Complete at least one project culminating in a paper.
  • Present at least one paper at a major meeting.
  • Present 1 or 2 conferences per month

Current positions are one ACGME accredited and two clinical fellows* (non-accredited).

*A Clinical Fellow reads one day/week as a Staff Radiologist in Regional Radiology and four days/week as a Fellow. Salary differential.
