Research and Education
Pulmonary physicians at Cleveland Clinic are heavily involved in research. The vast majority of their research projects are aimed at finding better treatments or viable treatments for lung diseases for which no effective treatment currently exists. Patients are automatically offered the option to participate in a clinical trial if they meet the participation criteria.
Many pulmonary physicians do basic science research as well. Their discoveries are leading to a greater understanding of disease processes and making the development of new medications to conquer these diseases possible.
