Brian Allyn
Program Director, Administrative Fellowship Program
Executive Director, Digestive Disease Institute
Brian Allyn serves as the Program Director for the Administrative Fellowship Program at Cleveland Clinic. He was an administrative fellow from 2015-2016 and values the opportunity to give back to the program in this role.
He is the Executive Director of the Digestive Disease Institute at Cleveland Clinic. In this role, Brian is the administrative lead for 260 physicians across both Ohio and Florida markets for Cleveland Clinic. Brian is accountable for the strategic management, clinical operations, and financial performance of Colorectal Surgery, General Surgery, Gastroenterology and the Center for Human Nutrition, which encompasses all Registered Dietitians. Brian also serves as the Program Director of the Administrative Fellowship Program at Cleveland Clinic, overseeing 8 administrative fellows each academic year.
Brian graduated with a bachelor’s degree from Hobart College in upstate New York with a double major in Economics and Public Policy. Following Hobart College, Brian pursued a Master’s in Healthcare Administration from George Washington University. Brian joined Cleveland Clinic as an Administrative Fellow in 2015. Since completing the fellowship program, Brian worked initially as the Assistant Administrator and then the Administrator for the Department of General Surgery, before becoming the Institute Administrator of Digestive Disease Institute in 2021.
Nick Anstine
Associate Director, Administrative Fellowship Program
Administrative Director, Hillcrest + Mentor Hospitals
Nicholas Anstine serves as the Associate Director for the Administrative Fellowship Program at Cleveland Clinic. Additionally, he holds the position of Administrative Director for Hillcrest & Mentor Hospitals, overseeing day-to-day operations of both the 500-bed hub and a new neighborhood hospital. Nick was responsible for leading the planning and activation of Mentor Hospital, which was delivered on time and on budget in 2023.
After earning his Master of Health Administration from The Ohio State University in 2018, Nick joined Cleveland Clinic as an Administrative Fellow. Prior to joining Cleveland Clinic, he served as the Executive Director for The Woods at Parkside, a behavioral health hospital in Columbus, OH.
Beyond his professional commitments, Nick is deeply invested in community initiatives. During his graduate studies, Nick co-founded and served as Board Chair for Heartland High School, Ohio's only recovery school designed to support students with substance use disorders. As Board Chair Emeritus, he continues to champion this cause and is presently leading efforts to replicate a similar institution in Northeast Ohio.
Lizzy Johnsen
Associate Director, Administrative Fellowship Program

Director, Kidney Medicine
Lizzy Johnsen serves as the Director for Kidney Medicine and Program Administrator in the Chief of Staff Office. In the Chief of Staff Office, she supervises the scribe program that supports 162 physicians annually, and created and manages the Program Management Office for the Chief of Staff which executes ~25 programs/projects annually. She joined Kidney Medicine in 2022 to manage clinical practice operations across numerous OP clinics, dialysis sites, and hospitals.
After earning her Master of Health Administration and Master of Public Health from The Ohio State University in 2019, Lizzy joined Cleveland Clinic as an administrative fellow. She has remained connected to mentoring young professionals as the Associate Director for the Administrative Fellowship Program. Prior to joining Cleveland Clinic, she worked at the National Institutes of Health.
Executive Mentors
Executive mentors are senior leaders of the Cleveland Clinic who are passionate about the development and success of emerging healthcare leaders. With their extensive experience, they offer valuable insights in navigating the complexities of healthcare administration with decision-making, organizational dynamics, and industry trends. They also cultivate fellow’s career development by providing personalized strategic advice and facilitate introductions with key stakeholders and other professionals.
Andrea Kanter Jacobs, JD
Executive Director, Operations
Andrea Kanter Jacobs, JD, was named the Executive Director of Cleveland Clinic Operations in August 2012. She provides executive leadership for the Operations Division’s various departments: Buildings and Properties, Clinical Engineering, Hotels, International Operations, Marketing and Communications, Supply Chain & Patient Support Services, Philanthropy, and Protective Services. She leads initiatives related to strategy, policy, system integration and change for the health system, as well as collaborates with other local anchor institutions to develop inclusive economic development strategies that leverage resources to benefit our local communities. She co-chairs Cleveland Clinic’s United Way Campaign and serves on numerous Steering Committees across the enterprise.
Andi’s experience since joining Cleveland Clinic in 2000 covers both clinical and non-clinical administration. She started her career at Cleveland Clinic as the Administrator of the Beachwood Family Health and Surgery Center. She later held several administrative positions of increasing responsibility including executive leadership in the Medicine Institute, Regional Hospital Administration, and as Chief Operating Officer of South Pointe Hospital. Prior to joining Cleveland Clinic, Andi was the VP of Administration and Planning for Montefiore, a not-for-profit health-care organization for seniors, and before that, practiced municipal law for 10 years. She currently serves on the boards of trustees of Evergreen Cooperatives (Vice Chair) and Jewish Community Housing. She is Past-President of the Board of Milestones Autism Resources.
Andi graduated summa cum laude from Tufts University with a Bachelor of Arts in economics. She has a Juris Doctor degree from Boston University School of Law.
Kris Bennett
Vice President of Operations, Northeast Ohio Market
Kris Bennett is the Vice President of Cleveland Clinic’s Northeast Ohio Market. He has over 20 years of healthcare experience and is a leader in business development, operations, caregiver engagement and driving patient experience and quality outcomes.
He joined the Cleveland Clinic in 2010 as COO at Lutheran Hospital and was selected to be Hillcrest Hospital’s COO in 2015. During his tenure at the Cleveland Clinic, he has demonstrated leadership that has led to significant improvements in quality outcomes, caregiver engagement, financial outcomes, and growth.
Prior to joining Cleveland Clinic in 2010, Kris worked as a director in finance and operations for University Hospitals Health System.
Kris graduated from Marietta College in 1992 with a Bachelor’s in Accounting and in 2005 he graduated from Baldwin Wallace with a Master’s in Business Administration.
Chad Minor
Associate Chief Caregiver Officer
Chief, Workforce Strategy
In this dually appointed role, Chad Minor is responsible for the global approach to all workforce needs while ensuring Cleveland Clinic has the workforce necessary to execute and achieve its strategy. Chad leads the global workforce strategies office consisting of strategic workforce planning, workforce productivity/optimization, workforce technologies/analytics, and remote workforce solutions.
Additionally, Chad partners with the Chief Caregiver Officer to lead the development and implementation of all aspects of employee engagement for Cleveland Clinic's 75,000 employees. Chad focuses on enhancing the health system's unique team-based culture by providing strategic direction and operations oversight for the organization's global human resources function.
Chad spent the last decade leading Cleveland Clinic's largest workforce. As System Executive Director of Nursing Operations, he was responsible for the strategic planning, operations, M&A integrations, workforce planning, and financial performance of nursing throughout Cleveland Clinic. In addition, he oversaw nursing operations for more than 28,000 employees throughout the health system.
Chad earned a Master's in Business Administration from Case Western Reserve University. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Bowling Green State University. In addition, Chad values executive education and has attended The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
Chad is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives and a graduate of The Academy GE Fellows Program for Administrative Executives. Additionally, he is a member of CNBC's Workforce Executive Council and has been recognized by Crain's Cleveland Business as a Forty Under 40 honoree.
Renee Kolonick
Vice President, Ambulatory Operations for the Enterprise
Renee Kolonick has more than 30 years working for Cleveland Clinic. Her experience in healthcare has focused on operations with 23 years in management/leadership, process improvement, professional development and coaching. Renee has worked in many environments across the Cleveland Clinic enterprise, supporting and partnering with employed and independent providers to reach enterprise goals. During her time at Cleveland Clinic, Renee helped develop and grow strategic programs, lead teams through culture change, increased patient, employee and physician engagement, and facilitated strong integration between the Institutes and Regional Hospitals. Renee is data driven with core strengths in relationship building, accountability and culture change.
Renee is currently the Vice President of Ambulatory Operations with responsibility over Ohio and Florida. In this role, Renee is focused on standardization and scalability; developing a culture of high reliability and working with the team on continuous improvement, strategic growth and systemness.
Tony Warmuth
Executive Director, Clinical Transformation
Anthony Warmuth is the executive director for clinical transformation at Cleveland Clinic. He leads enterprise efforts across safety, quality, patient experience and continuous improvement. He received his healthcare master’s in Public Administration and graduate certification in Bioethics from Cleveland State University. He is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives and serves on the Board of the Northern Ohio Chapter of ACHE as past president. He has research and policy interests in improvement science, patient safety and eliminating healthcare disparities.
He received his CPHQ from the National Association of Healthcare Quality and was among the first in Ohio to receive Patient Safety Certification by the National Patient Safety Foundation. He has more than 25 years of healthcare experience in quality, administration, and research roles in a variety of healthcare settings.
Dave Cato, PT
Vice President of Operations, Cleveland Clinic Florida Market
David Cato is the Vice President of Operations for the Cleveland Clinic Florida Market. In this role, he is responsible for the strategic direction, planning and delivery of quality and economical healthcare services at Cleveland Clinic Florida. He works collaboratively with the health system team to achieve financial, operational, quality and safety goals. David also leads initiatives aimed at innovation and teamwork.
Previously, David was Chief of Operations for the Cleveland Clinic Florida Region and Chief Officer of Outpatient and Hospital Operations and Post-Acute Care at Lee Health in Fort Myers, Florida.
David graduated from the University of Florida with an undergraduate degree in physical therapy and a master’s degree in business administration.
An active community volunteer, David has enjoyed coaching youth football, basketball and baseball teams for 25 years. He serves on the state of Florida’s Special Olympics Board of Directors and is the Clinical Director for the Special Olympics “FUNfitness,” which provides physical therapy screenings for participating athletes.
Alumni Mentors
Alumni mentors are recent graduates of Cleveland Clinic’s Administrative Fellowship Program who are passionate about the professional development and success of the fellows. They provide advice on maximizing the fellowship, navigating project work and teams, and guidance on potential career trajectories based on their own experiences. Alumni mentors play a crucial role in bridging the gap between the academic and professional worlds, providing a supportive network for fellows as they start their journey at the Cleveland Clinic and in healthcare administration.
Curry Cates
Program Manager IV, East Submarket- Integrated Hospital-Care Institute (IHI)
Curry Cates is originally from Alabama and attended the University of Alabama at Birmingham, where he obtained both his MHA and MPH. Curry was a part of the 2021-2022 Fellowship cohort, where he worked on a variety of enterprise initiatives, most notably the operationalizing of Cleveland Clinic Florida's Care at Home (acute care in the home) offering, as well as the planning, preparation and initiation of a strategic expansion of one of Cleveland Clinic's Family Health Centers in Northeast Ohio. Curry now serves as a Program Manager for the east submarket of the IHI, where he has operational oversight of both Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine. More specifically, this oversight consists of 71 provider FTEs, as well as 50 support FTEs across 5 hospitals and various other ambulatory sights. Currently, Curry actively serves as an alumni mentor for the fellowship program. Curry is a staunch supporter of all Auburn University athletics and enjoys eating his way through Cleveland, as well as exploring Cleveland's vast Metroparks system with his wife and dog, in his free time.
Kayla Robinson
Associate Strategy Partner II
Kayla is an Associate Strategy Partner at Cleveland Clinic serving on the Strategic Partnerships and Integration team. In her role, she manages relationships and deals with many internal and external partners varying from global health system affiliates to digital health startups to hospitals within the Cleveland Clinic system. She often works closely with the enterprise’s Executive Strategy Council to successfully drive operational and innovative strategies. Before this role, she completed an Administrative Fellowship at Cleveland Clinic and a Graduate Internship working in Executive Administration.
Kayla received her BS in Health Promotion and Disease Prevention from the University of Southern California and earned her Master of Health Administration from The Ohio State University. Throughout her time as a student, Kayla collected experiences in numerous healthcare industries across the country such as healthcare policy, assisted living, community health education, clinical research and consulting.
Kayla also serves as the Program Director for the Leadership in Healthcare Undergraduate Administrative Internship Program aimed at shaping the next generation of diverse leaders in healthcare. She is interested in operationalizing strategies, international healthcare, digital health, professional development, and health equity.
Casey Lawrence
Program Manager, Chief of Staff Office, FL Market
Casey Lawrence completed both the graduate administrative internship and administrative fellowship at Cleveland Clinic's main campus in Cleveland, Ohio. Casey is currently a program manager for Cleveland Clinic's Chief of Staff office in the FL market. Casey serves as a mentor and project sponsor.
Ashley Rader Sell
Director, Remote Workforce Solutions
Ashley joined Cleveland Clinic in 2016, coming from the MHA program at The University of North Carolina. She’s worked as an administrator of medical operations and currently leads future of work efforts related to remote and hybrid work. She serves as a mentor to Administrative Fellows and enjoys serving on boards in the community.
Sarah Beinkampen
Director, Epilepsy and Pediatric Neurosciences
Sarah is currently Director of two neurological centers for CCHS and provides project management for the new Neurological Institute building which is planned to open in late 2026. She previously managed the Enterprise stroke and cerebrovascular surgical service lines and was a project manager for the Chief of Staff and Executive offices upon graduation from the administrative fellowship program in 2018. She is an alumnus of The Ohio State University and worked clinically for 3 years at Nationwide Children’s Hospital in the behavioral health section. Sarah enjoys working with graduate interns each summer, mentors administrative fellows and assists with the CC Case Competition.
Steven Zerbini
Senior Director, General Surgery
Steven Zerbini currently serves as the Senior Director of General Surgery within the Digestive Disease Institute (DDI) at Cleveland Clinic where he is responsible for the strategic, financial, and operational performance of one of the organizations largest surgical departments. Throughout his time at Cleveland Clinic, he has also supported the departments of Colorectal Surgery and Urology in addition to consulting work within DDI. Steven joined Cleveland Clinic in 2017 as an Administrative Fellow. Since his time as a fellow, Steven has been involved with the fellowship program serving on the recruitment committee, a project sponsor and mentor.
Prior to joining Cleveland Clinic Steven worked clinically as an EMT, worked in the pharmaceutical industry as regional sales representative and as a strategic operations intern at Mass General Brigham. He received his Master of Business Administration and Master of Public Health from Boston University.
