2018-2022 (N = 34)
Therapy Services offers a pragmatic language skills group using the Incredible Flexible You Social Thinking Curriculum®. The goal is to help patients learn and build social communication skills to effectively interact with others at home, school, and within their everyday environment. The group is run by two speech therapists who have attended training in Social Thinking Curriculum®. Patients attend camp one time per week for sixty-minute treatment sessions, for seven weeks. The camp is for children ages 5-7 and 9-11 who exhibit difficulties with social interactions such as diagnosis of Autism, ADHD, Down’s Syndrome and Speech disturbance disorder. Pre-and post-testing data is collected using the Clinical Evaluation of Language Fundamentals-5 (CELF-5) Pragmatic Profile, a standardized parent-based questionnaire, examining pragmatic behaviors of the individual. From 2018-2022, 34 patients participated in the group. The group did not run in 2020 due to Covid. The average scaled score change/patient for Social Thinking Camp was greater or equal to >= .62
