Executive Chief Nursing Officer
Cleveland Clinic has appointed Sarah Sinclair, MBA, RN, a healthcare executive with more than 25 years of executive leadership, as Executive Chief Nursing Officer of the Cleveland Clinic Health System, effective Feb. 1, 2009. In this newly created role as Cleveland Clinic’s Executive CNO, Sinclair will oversee and integrate nursing throughout the enterprise.
Sinclair comes to Cleveland Clinic from Memorial Hermann Health System in Houston, Texas, where she served as System Chief Patient Care Officer. “Sarah touts an impressive history of executive leadership and strategic planning,” says Joe Hahn, MD, Chief of Staff. “She has broad-based experience in multi-hospital systems and networks and has led numerous community initiatives to enhance healthcare delivery.”
Sinclair currently is responsible for patient care, critical care services, organizational effectiveness, emergency services and other services at Memorial Hermann, an 11-hospital health system serving the greater Houston area. As the first system chief patient care officer in the hospital system, she led initiatives that resulted in a total annual savings of more than $12 million.
Sinclair received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Southern Adventist University and a Masters in Business Administration from Loyola College in Baltimore.
