The research process is a significant aspect of our fellowship program. Therefore, we offer several opportunities to participate in basic science, translational and clinical research projects.
Our primary research goals are to educate fellows about:
- Selection of an appropriate scientific question
- Writing protocols
- Interacting with the Institutional Review Board, different regulatory boards and funding sources
- Collecting and interpreting data
- Statistics with the help of the statistics department
- Organizing and presenting results at national meetings
- Publishing in peer-reviewed journals
Research Faculty and Facilities
Located on Cleveland Clinic main campus, the Lerner Research Institute houses more than 200 investigators, including many of our critical care staff. The majority of research faculty members also hold academic appointments at nearby Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland State University or Kent State University.
