Recent 'Men's Health' event a success
Approximately 167 men registered for the "For Men Only" event held August 23 at South Pointe Hospital. The event was held to address men's health issues and to educate and increase awareness regarding prostate and other cancers that plague the African American community and are of high incidence in the South Pointe area.
Listed below are some preliminary outcomes of the program. The following screenings were completed on the nearly 170 men who registered for the event:
- 126 PSAs drawn for prostate screening
- 116 Healthy Heart screenings
- 53 Physicals completed
- 76 Oral/head and neck screenings
- 62 Colorectal assessments
- 77 Stroke assessments
- 50 HIV screenings
- 125 Vision and glaucoma screenings
