Cleveland Clinic Rehabilitation Hospital at Lakewood Hospital is the hub of rehabilitation services for Cleveland’s west side:

  • A full range of neurological, orthopaedic, organ transplant and medical rehabilitation services
  • 12,000 square-foot facility with 35-beds, 29 private rooms, advanced technology
  • 24-hour, in-house physician coverage
  • Physiatrists, dedicated nurse practitioners, and specialized rehabilitation nurses work together to develop a plan of care for each patient
  • Direct access to specialists from Cleveland Clinic Neurological Institute at Lakewood Hospital
  • Expertise in postoperative pain control, integrating the services of pain management physician specialists
  • Rehab physicians continue to follow patients after discharge to help coordinate functional needs at home
  • Joint Commission certification of Lakewood Hospital for Stroke Rehabilitation and as a Primary Stroke Center

A full complement of physical, occupational, and speech therapy services to address mobility, activities of daily living, driving, communication and swallowing problems:

  • Specialty programs to help patients manage diet, nutrition, and bowel and bladder issues
  • Adjuncts to traditional therapies: horticulture, art, music, relaxation training, outpatient stroke support group, low-sodium and diabetic cooking classes, community re-integration, balance and coordination activities using the Wii video system
  • StEP (Stroke Exercise Program), an exercise maintenance program to help stroke patients maintain or improve functional abilities after they are discharged from outpatient therapy services
