New ED and ICU Now Open
As the community evolves and the delivery of medical care advances, Fairview Hospital fully embraces its responsibility to continue to upgrade its services. That’s why we have invested $83 million to expand and upgrade its Emergency Department and Intensive Care Unit.
The new facility provides improved access for everything from minor emergencies to life-threatening conditions in a setting that prioritizes patient comfort, convenience and healing.
The expanded Emergency Department features 55 beds and a separate 16-room Pediatric Emergency Department. There are two trauma rooms, as Fairview Hospital is the only Level II Trauma Center on the west side. Emergency Department patients can also expect reduced wait times as the result of a streamlined process, and bedside registration, checkout and discharge help to expedite care.
An updated concourse and lobby area allows for clearer wayfinding from the hospital entrance to various clinical departments. There are two separate entrances for walk-in patients and emergency medical vehicles.
The Intensive Care Unit has 38 private patient rooms. Each is equipped with the latest technology and is designed to allow family members to visit comfortably.
Demonstrating a commitment to sustainability and environmental design, the facility is LEED-certified, with improved indoor air quality, optimized energy performance, and reduced water use.
State-of-the-art pediatric emergency care on Cleveland's west side.
