Congestive Heart Failure

The education and treatment program includes:

  • Education in disease, diet, exercise, medication, signs and symptoms
  • Close monitoring of cardiac status
  • Fluid and electrolyte management
  • Support for patients and their families
  • IV medication
  • Medically supervised conditions programs, which includes EKG monitoring during exercise
  • Education and counseling to help reduce the chance of further heart problems
  • Gradual endurance exercise training and behavior changes

In the maintenance phase of the program, patients are encouraged to make life-long behavior changes that will allow them to lead active, meaningful lives.
