Curriculum

Grand Rounds

Grand Rounds are held on Monday mornings at 8:30 a.m. These are high-level presentations by speakers from our own faculty as well as individuals who are well recognized locally and nationally.

Morning Report

Morning Report is held on Monday and Friday mornings at 7 a.m. Generally, admissions from the previous night are discussed, identifying problems, appropriate plan for investigation and therapy, and other aspects of the case.

Medical Management Conferences

Medical Management Conference is held on Friday mornings at 8:30 a.m. Residents discuss interesting cases seen during their various rotations.

Resident Education Conferences

Conferences are held Tuesday through Friday at noon. They cover all specialties in internal medicine as well as current topics of interest in medicine, such as adolescent medicine, ethics, geriatrics, managed care, risk management and practice management.

Elective Rotations

Elective rotations are a significant part of our program's second and third years of training. These are available in all of the different disciplines of Internal Medicine as well as in other related specialties like Allergy, Psychiatry, Gynecology, Office Orthopedics, Rehabilitation, Dermatology, Ophthalmology, Otolaryngology and Radiology. Our elective rotations add to the skills of the future internist or prepare the resident to an excellent start if a career in an Internal Medicine subspecialty is pursued.
