The Miller Family Heart & Vascular Institute at Cleveland Clinic is the best heart program in America, according to U.S. News & World Report's annual survey.

The Section of Clinical Cardiology is very often the entry point for access to the full breadth and depth of cardiovascular care. The Section's primary mission is to deliver high quality, cardiovascular care to all of our patients, in the hospital as well as in the outpatient setting. We see patients with very common heart problems, such as angina, artery problems, valvular heart disease and heart failure, as well as some very rare forms of heart disease. Some of our patients are so ill that they have been told they are untreatable at other facilities.

The Section offers the latest innovations in cardiac care and clinical therapies to patients of all ages. We provide state-of-the-art tests and procedures to assist in accurate diagnosis and planning of treatment. We listen carefully to our patients' concerns and try to devise the very best evaluation and treatment plans for each individual. Our cardiologists provide broad treatment options, including lifestyle modification recommendations, medications and procedures, and our cardiologists work closely with our cardiovascular surgeons who perform open heart surgery.

Our cardiologists treat all kinds of heart and blood vessel diseases including:

  • Heart attacks
  • Myocardial Infarction
  • Mitral valve prolapse
  • Adult congenital heart disease
  • Aortic disease
  • Coronary artery disease
  • Hypercholesterolemia and risk factor modification
  • Family history of coronary disease
  • Heart disease symptoms:
    • Chest pain or discomfort (angina)
    • Shortness of breath
    • Palpitations
    • Leg swelling
