Located on the southern shore of Lake Erie, Cleveland and its nearby suburbs are home to nearly 3 million residents. In addition to various concert arenas, theaters and restaurants, Cleveland hosts the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum and the Great Lakes Science Center and is home of the world-famous Cleveland Orchestra.

The Cleveland Metroparks - an emerald necklace of inviting forest, wildlife and rivers - surrounds the city of Cleveland and offers abundant recreational opportunities including hiking, fishing and cross-country skiing. Cleveland is also home to professional baseball, football, basketball and hockey.

Cleveland Clinic's campus is situated three miles east of downtown Cleveland, near the city's largest cultural center. University Circle offers a large concentration of museums and cultural activities including the Cleveland Institute of Music and the world-renowned Cleveland Museum of Art. Within a few minutes drive of Cleveland Clinic is Little Italy, a quaint and charming area of intimate Italian restaurants, antique shops and art galleries. The colleges and universities that have become centers for learning and educational accomplishments - Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland State University and John Carroll University - also are within a short distance of the Cleveland Clinic campus.
