Encompassing the areas of Clinical Pathology and Anatomic Pathology, our division generates millions of laboratory test results, interpretations and diagnostic consultations annually.

Our team of board certified pathologists offers sub-specialization in Dermatopathology, Cytopathology, Hematopathology and Gastrointestinal Pathology and Renal Pathology. This wide range of sub-specialization enables our division to diagnosis a multitude of diseases and provide your physicians with the best information available to manage your care.



The Division of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at Cleveland Clinic Florida comprises the following departments:

Anatomic Pathology

The Department of Anatomic Pathology is responsible for the processing and interpretation of tissue and body fluids.

Clinical Pathology

The Department of Clinical Pathology performs and interprets approximately 3 million tests per year in diverse areas including Clinical Chemistry, Hematology, Microbiology and Transfusion Medicine. In addition, new testing methodology is constantly being introduced.

All pathologists are board-certified and with sub-specialization expertise in the following areas:

  • Approximately 20,000 surgical and Cytology specimens are processed and interpreted yearly.
  • Educational and research activities are essential to the mission of the division. The pathologists present and support numerous interdepartmental specialty conferences and routinely present at national and international courses. The members of the division are involved in numerous individual and multidisciplinary research projects.
