The Young Friends of Cleveland Clinic Florida hosted the final event of the season at the Cleveland Clinic Florida Health and Wellness Center in West Palm Beach on Thursday, June 10, 2010. The event included a cocktail reception inside the Carl E. Hirsch Family Lounge with panoramic views of West Palm Beach with specialty cocktails and hors d'oeuvres created by Sandy James Fine Foods. Cocktails were followed by a presentation on "Women’s Health: The Myths and the Magic" by the world renowned Cleveland Clinic physicians.
Kipper Lance, who serves as chairman and founder of the Young Friends committee welcomed the guests and committee members after the cocktail reception. Jill Burgess, Administrator at the Health and Wellness Center and Stephanie Rapp, Development Events Coordinator greeted the group and introduced the Cleveland Clinic Florida physicians including Dr. Claudia Mason, and Dr. Cassann Blake.
Dr. Mason and Dr. Blake gave special presentations to the guests on women's health and wellness. Dr. Mason gave the group tips on maintaining a healthy sex life at any age. Then Dr. Blake spoke about total breast care and the various ways one can control hormones.
Dr. Mason said, "Dr. Blake and I really enjoyed our talk on women's health and wellness with the Young Friends of Cleveland Clinic Florida. It was a pleasure working with this group – they are current and future patients of Cleveland Clinic Florida and terrific advocates of the new Health and Wellness Center in WPB."
Gift baskets were raffled off and included Lilly Pulitzer "Original Lilly" bags from C. Orrico Palm Beach, donated by Casey, Kathleen, and Colleen Orrico. All guests received a gift bag with products from the Cleveland Clinic and breast health care tips.
