Lester Rosen, MD, Named Health Care Professional Of The Year


Board-certified colorectal surgeon Lester Rosen, MD, FACS, FASCRS, with the Cleveland Clinic Florida Health and Wellness Center, was designated Health Care Professional of the Year by the Chamber of Commerce of the Palm Beaches for his efforts to increase public awareness of colorectal disease and the importance of preventative care.

“Dr. Rosen’s dedication to education and his efforts in increasing the standards of colorectal care have earned him industry recognition and the respect of his peers,” says Bernie Fernandez, MD , chief executive officer of Cleveland Clinic in Florida. “We are proud to have Dr. Rosen with Cleveland Clinic and congratulate him on this well-deserved honor.”

With more than 25 years experience, Dr. Rosen specializes in the treatment of hemorrhoids, fissure, fistula, incontinence, ulcerative colitis, Crohn’s Disease and colorectal cancer. He is a past president of the American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons (2006-2007) and was tapped in the 1990s to help the U.S. government establish national guidelines for colorectal cancer screenings, today’s standard of care.

Dr. Rosen is a dedicated medical educator, having spent 12 years as a professor of clinical surgery at Pennsylvania State University’s Hershey Medical Center. He serves as a senior board examiner for the American Board of Colorectal Surgery, a position he’s held for 15 years. He also previously served as an associate editor of the specialty journal Diseases of the Colon and Rectum.
