An international appointment specialist assists international patients with scheduling primary and specialty care appointments, executive physicals, diagnostic services, laboratory tests, procedures, and surgical procedures.

Travel arrangements, including hotel accommodations and ground transportation from the airport, can be made for patients and their families coming to Cleveland Clinic Florida for medical care.

International Patient Services are available to coordinate all medically related financial arrangements. A financial counselor will manage estimates for medical and surgical charges, provide assistance with banking, credit card payments and wire transfers. During a routine yearly physical in the Dominican Republic, my place of residence, my cardiologist suspected lymphoma. I was referred to a hematologist who suggested treatment abroad due to the level of care the condition may require at my age. So, we asked around and my wife’s friend referred us to the Cleveland Clinic Florida International Patient Services Center. We immediately sent an email asking for orientation and received a call early the next day with one question, “How fast can you come?”
We packed our bags and by the time we boarded, we had a full schedule of doctors’ appointments, tests, surgery and related procedures within 48 hours from our arrival.
It is very difficult to explain the shock, anxiety and confusion one experiences when faced with the probability of being diagnosed with cancer. However, by managing my health care and insurance concerns in an expeditious manner, the staff at the International Service Center created a sense of peace and security. I thank my wife’s friend for sharing her experience with us and guiding us to Cleveland Clinic Florida.
