Biography
Sierra Steele is a Registered Dietitian at Cleveland Clinic Canada. Ms. Steele has experience providing one-on-one nutrition counselling and assessments to her patients, as well as facilitating group education sessions in clinical settings. She has a strong interest in sports nutrition, weight management, and agriculture-related nutrition.
Growing up, Ms. Steele was immersed in the world of sports and developed a fascination with the role that nutrition plays in fueling and recovery for the body. She decided to turn this passion into a career, and obtained her Bachelor of Science in Nutrition and Dietetics from Western University before going on to complete a Diploma in Dietetic Education and Practice Training from Western. Since graduation, she completed training in a wide variety of clinical areas, including addressing weight bias and stigma in healthcare, pediatric nutrition, renal care, and critical care nutrition.
In her practice, Ms. Steele provides counselling for nutritional issues and goals such as diabetes and prediabetes, weight management, sports nutrition, metabolic syndrome, chronic disease prevention, and overall healthy eating habits. She believes that education is a key part of the patient journey and employs empathy and motivational strategies in her counselling.
When she’s not seeing patients, Ms. Steele enjoys playing competitive volleyball and trying new recipes.
