Part of Cleveland Clinic's Neurological Institute, the Rose Ella Burkhardt Brain Tumor and Neuro-Oncology Center is a nationally recognized leader in the diagnosis and treatment of primary and metastatic spine, nerve, and brain tumors, and their effects on the nervous system. Annually, the Burkhardt Brain Tumor Center physicians record approximately 8000 patient visits and performed more than 900 surgeries.

»Cleveland Clinic recognizes Brain Tumor Awareness Month

Approximately 300,000 people in the U.S. are diagnosed with a brain tumor each year. Although a brain tumor diagnosis can be overwhelming, there are a number of advanced treatments and surgical techniques to offer brain tumor patients hope. But like with any cancer diagnosis, early detection is key. Join our staff and patients on May 17th and 18th, from 10am - 4pm both days, in the lobby of the Taussig Cancer Center on Cleveland Clinic's main campus. We will be helping visitors learn more about brain tumor warning signs, diagnoses and treatment options. Dr. Violette Recinos, a surgeon at the hospital, assured the Tondich family that the tumor was in the best place to have a tumor, which made the operation to remove the tumor a relatively “easy” one.
