In 1999, the information systems support component was broken out from each of the Clinical Engineering Sections and combined to form a divisional information systems group (ISG).
ISG provides computer network resources to more than 400 anesthesia users including staff, administration, research, nursing, clinical engineering, billing and residents. Additionally, ISG provides kiosk PC support to patients for HealthQuest, ChildQuest and PainQuest online clinical questionnaires.
Currently, this includes more than 350 workstations, 70 network printers, standalone printers, 20 Divisional servers, more than 75 networked applications and databases, Internet and Intranet websites, and Palm PDA support at Cleveland Clinic Main Campus and at nine affiliate sites employing Cleveland Clinic anesthesia services.
ISG is responsible for the research and recommendation or procurement of new PCs, printers, desktop software, server hardware and software, network infrastructure equipment, notebook computers and PDAs.
