This position was created to further promote the research activities of the residents and fellows within the Institute. The position is held by two to three residents from the CA-2 and CA-3 classes for a one-year appointment. Responsibilities include:
- Provide mentorship for junior residents to promote and stimulate their involvement in scholarly activity
- Facilitate faculty and resident communication regarding research projects
- Prepare and distribute materials regarding conducting research, meetings, journals, grants and contests
- Facilitate abstract and manuscript submission, utilizing resources available, including biostatistics and medical editing
- Facilitate the completion of the academic portfolio by each resident
- Coordinate Institute participation in key meetings on a recurring basis
- Facilitate resident research education activities
- Organize the annual Institute Resident Research Day
