Institute Chairmen & Directors

Cleveland Clinic's Anesthesiology Institute is one of the largest, and we believe, the best, in the country. The institute consists of the Departments of Cardiothoracic Anesthesiology, General Anesthesiology, Outcomes Research, Pediatric Anesthesiology, Comprehensive Pain Management, and Regional Practice Anesthesiology (11 off-main campus sites).

The Institute is responsible for care, education and research at 199 operating rooms, 124 critical care beds, and cares for over 200,000 perioperative and periprocedure patients and 116,000 pain patients and 44,000 plus critical care days a year — we were one of the first to organize into subspecialty sections. The pain management center is the one of largest (and again we believe the best in quality) in the world.

The institute has had the most abstracts presented at the American Society of Anesthesiologist Annual Meeting four out of the last seven years. It is led by:
