The Department of Bioethics is pleased to offer standing educational events each month.

  • Bioethics Grand Rounds is held the second Tuesday of each month and focuses on an intriguing Bioethics related topic. Staff and/or fellows present on a topic and welcome feedback from audience members.
  • In-Depth Case Study is held on the fourth Tuesday of the month and focuses on an interesting, provocative, troubling and/or instructive case from the recent past. These sessions are held with the intention to strive toward excellence in ethics consultation.
  • "Food for Thought" takes place on the first Thursday of the month and is a discussion session focused on the spiritual and ethical issues arising in health care.

Sponsored by the Center for Ethics, Humanities and Spiritual Care, Food for Thought is a monthly brown-bag educational discussion session focused on the spiritual and ethical issues arising in health care.

The sessions take place on the first Thursday of each month, 12:00 – 1:00 p.m., usually in Q1/Glickman Conference Center. The sessions use a variety of resources to focus discussion, e.g., peer-reviewed journal articles, short stories, poetry, book chapters, short films, guest presenters. Preparatory written reading material is posted on a dedicated SharePoint site.
