Dr. Maria Mountis is Staff in the Division of Cardiology, Section of Heart Failure and Transplantation. She was appointed to the Cleveland Clinic in 2008. She is board certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiology, and Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant by the American Board of Internal Medicine. She is also certified in adult echocardiography by the National Board of Echocardiography.
In addition to office visits, Dr. Mountis also offers scheduled pre-visits and follow up virtual visits to select patients, through the Cleveland Clinic Express Care ® Online app. This platform allows patients to see their physician live, using their smartphone, tablet or computer.

Education and Training: Dr. Mountis is a Pennsylvania native, graduating with a B.S. degree in Biology from Saint Joseph's University, Philadelphia, PA. She received her medical degree from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed her internship and residency in Internal Medicine at Lehigh Valley Hospital and Health Network in Allentown, PA. This was followed by her fellowship in Cardiovascular Medicine at Albert Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia, PA, where she was also appointed Chief Cardiovascular Fellow. She continued her training at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania with a fellowship dedicated to the care of patients with Advanced Heart Failure and Cardiac Transplant.

Dr. Mountis is so knowledgeable and always comprehends the big picture. She identified a problem result in one of my blood tests. Rather than panic (which was my reaction), she put in an order to retest it. When that result came back questionable, she replied immediately that all was ok. What an awesome doctor.
