Biography

About Tracy Hull, MD

Tracy Hull, MD, has been Staff Surgeon in the Department of Colon and Rectal Surgery at Cleveland Clinic since 1993. She is the Section Chief of Inflammatory Bowel Disease within the Department and also holds the Thomas and Sandra Sullivan Family Endowed Chair in Inflammatory Bowel Disease. She received her Doctorate of Medicine, cum laude, from The Ohio State University in 1986. She did her surgical residency at SUNY Syracuse, New York from 1986-1991. Her fellowship was done at Cleveland Clinic from 1991-1992.

Dr. Hull is active in numerous professional societies including Alpha Omega Alpha, the American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons, the American College of Surgeon and many others. She currently serves as the secretary for the American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons. She also is the chair of the Written Examination committee for the American Board of Colon and Rectal Surgery.

She has authored numerous peer reviewed articles, and many book chapters, and been the editor of two text books on colon and rectal surgery. Additionally, she speaks at the major meetings around the world. Dr. Hull takes care of patients with all forms of colorectal disease, but has a special interest in Redo pelvic surgery including redo pelvic pouches. She also specializes in surgically treating patients with ulcerative colitis, Crohn's disease, pelvic floor dysfunction, among other colorectal diseases.

Dr. Hull is an incredible person. I've never had a doctor waiting in the operating room when I arrived. She held my hand & comforted me until I fell asleep. Dr. Hull is the top of her field. Her professionalism and knowledge is amazing. She is extremely personable, courteous, kind, and compassionate. She works diligently to repair Issues and get answers for patients with difficult illnesses. She has absolutely gone above and beyond for me. My case was very difficult as are many of her patients. I am truly blessed to have her as my surgeon with the resources of Cleveland Clinic.

It was a little difficult getting the surgery scheduled and cost a lot more for housing than we had planned for due to the inability to get all of our appointments in the same week as our surgery. The staff at Dr. Hulls office is very competent and does an amazing job very sharp, smart and compassionate.

I have always felt good working with Dr. Hull, she is personable, compassionate and gentle. This appointment Dr. Hull had a fellow/doctor with her, the procedure was more uncomfortable than usual, don't know how much of the procedure was performed by the fellow.
